That's It For 2024 - 2025

THANK YOU from MRS.GARTLY
You blink, and suddenly it's June. I’m not sure how that happened— wasn’t it just September and everyone was still looking for their indoor shoes?
But here we are, another school year wrapped up. And wow—what a year.
Let’s start with some bragging rights (because you all earned them):
92% of students, parents, and staff are happy with the quality of education at LCS.
95% say our kids can read and write at grade level. (Spoiler: The tests agree.)
93% say staff make learning engaging and fun.
94% say students are growing in math. (Again, our data backs it up.)
92% of students say they feel motivated to do their best.
97% of students, parents, and staff say the school is cohesive and supportive.
Those aren't just numbers. They're stories of hard work, creativity, and community. They’re hallway conversations, early-morning planning, late-night marking, parent check-ins, and students rising to the challenge—day after day. So yes, let’s celebrate.
To Our Amazing STAFF:
You show up, every day, with energy, ideas, and genuine care. You don’t just teach—you build relationships, spot the quiet kids who need a boost, laugh with the jokesters, coach, correct, clean up, and cheer on. From lesson plans to checking hiding spots — you do it all, and it matters. I see you. And I’m incredibly grateful.
To Our Awesome STUDENTS:
You’ve grown more than just a few centimetres taller this year. You've asked big questions. You’ve worked through tough problems. You've figured out how to work with others, how to try again, and how to keep showing up. You’ve also made us laugh, amazed us with your talent, and reminded us why we do what we do. We are proud of the contributing citizens you are becoming.
To Our Incredible PARENTS and FAMILIES:
You’re the behind-the-scenes champions—answering emails, driving, finding lost permission slips, encouraging homework after long days, and partnering with us through all the ups and downs. Thank you for your support, your honesty, your grace, and your insight. You know your kids best, and we are better educators because we work with you.
SO WHAT NOW? We breathe. We rest. We eat popsicles.
We’ll be back in August, rested and ready for another great year.
Until then—thank you for being part of what makes Lomond Community School more than just a school. It’s a community. And that’s something worth celebrating.
With much gratitude,
Melissa Gartly
